GLOBE — PLATFORM OVERVIEW
Understanding the GLOBE platform
A concise introduction to the platform, its role within a DMC and how it connects with external distribution systems.

The GLOBE lifecycle
What GLOBE is
GLOBE is a SaaS platform designed for Destination Management Companies (DMCs). It connects, in one environment: Production → Publication & Distribution → Quotation → Booking → Operations → Back-office.
- structure the DMC's product;
- maintain information continuity;
- connect that product to distribution channels and external systems.
It is not intended to replace every tool a DMC already uses. Its role is to structure product information, preserve continuity across teams and connect the DMC to its distribution partners.
Why GLOBE exists
Within a DMC, the same information is often recreated across:
- product files, pricing grids, departures
- editorial content, quotations, bookings
- operational services and supplier documents
- accounting tools and external distribution systems
GLOBE organizes this information around the same product and booking context so it can be reused from one stage to the next.
The lifecycle stages
- Production — programs, day-by-day itineraries, accommodation, services, transport, pricing grids, departures, commercial versions.
- Publication & Distribution — editorial content, prices, departure dates, variants and availability prepared for external environments.
- Quotation — commercial proposals built from product information already structured in the platform.
- Booking — a confirmed sale stays linked to the product and quotation that generated it.
- Operations — services, suppliers, hotels, guides, transport, vouchers, documents and confirmation follow-up.
- Back-office — purchase orders, payables and receivables, invoicing, payments, margins, reporting.
Keeping information connected
A core GLOBE principle is information continuity: produced → published → quoted → booked → operated → followed through back-office, while retaining references and business context.
Product, Sales, Operations and Back-office teams work from a coherent information source.
Main functional areas
- Production — structures products, itineraries, services, pricing, departures and commercial variants.
- Package Publisher — prepares and publishes packages and commercial data to connected distribution partners.
- À la Carte Pro — agent-facing: a travel advisor builds a complex FIT itinerary from the DMC's production, operational rules, availability and service compatibility. The advisor personalizes the trip while the DMC keeps control of its product.
- DMC Quote — DMC-facing: the DMC team prepares a customized quotation from its own production and adds specific or non-standard services where required.
- Booking & Operations — turns a confirmed booking into an actionable operational file for destination teams.
- Back-office — connects operations with supplier, customer and financial follow-up.
- Connectivity — exchanges structured information with external systems.
Connectivity with external systems
GLOBE is designed as a DMC layer connected to the wider travel ecosystem, rather than a closed silo.
- Outbound — product content, prices, departures, variants, availability.
- Inbound — bookings or other events from connected systems.
- Real-time — product options, prices or availability queried where the relevant integration supports it.
The exact integration model depends on the partner system and project scope.
Example: where ORCHESTRA fits
ORCHESTRA is one example of a distribution platform with which GLOBE can exchange information. GLOBE remains the environment where the DMC structures and maintains its product.
- publication files can feed catalogue/cache information;
- an API connection can complement publication for real-time options, prices or availability;
- booking flows can remain separate where an existing mechanism already meets the requirement.
GLOBE and ORCHESTRA are complementary layers: GLOBE carries the DMC's product and workflow, ORCHESTRA carry production and distribution on the tour-operator side.
One Costa Rica product through GLOBE
- Production — the DMC creates the program, stages, hotels, services, departures and prices.
- Distribution — GLOBE prepares the information required by the distribution partner.
- Sales — the same product becomes the basis of a quotation or booking.
- Booking — a confirmed sale becomes a GLOBE booking linked to the source product.
- Operations — destination services are prepared for the DMC team and suppliers.
- Back-office — supplier, customer and financial follow-up stays linked to the same booking.
The information is not rebuilt at each stage: it flows.
What GLOBE is not
- a consumer OTA;
- only a booking engine;
- only a quotation tool;
- a generic travel inventory marketplace;
- a mandatory replacement for every existing DMC system.
GLOBE is the DMC's product and operational layer, with the connectivity required to make that information available to the systems that consume it.

TravelgateX — hotel inventory / channel-manager connectivity
GLOBE is working on a TravelgateX integration to enable the platform to use hotel inventory and availability originating from channel managers connected through TravelgateX.
In summary
The same product information should continue to flow instead of being rebuilt at every stage.
